Terms of Service

Welcome to Turtle ("Turtle," "we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Eligibility
- •You must be at least 18 years old to use Turtle.
- •You may not use the Services if prohibited by applicable law.
- •By registering, you confirm the information you provide is truthful and accurate.
Account & Profile
- •You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.
- •Your profile must be accurate and may be reviewed prior to being shown in the App to help maintain a safe community.
- •We may refuse, restrict, or remove profiles that violate these Terms or community standards.
Community Guidelines
- •Be respectful. Do not harass, abuse, threaten, or harm others.
- •No unlawful, hateful, violent, explicit, or infringing content.
- •No bots, spam, scams, or commercial solicitation.
- •Report unsafe behavior via in-app tools; we may investigate and take action.
Core Features
Slow Dating: We limit certain actions to encourage intention over endless swiping.
Focus Mode: After you start a chat following a match, new matches may be temporarily restricted (e.g., 24 hours) so both parties can focus on one conversation.
Daily Like/Viewer Limits: We may limit how many profiles or likes you can view/interact with each day to reduce burnout and spam.
Profile Review: Profiles may be reviewed for safety and quality before being shown.
Content & Intellectual Property
Your Content: You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, videos, text). By submitting content, you grant Turtle a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content solely to operate and improve the Services.
Our IP: Turtle trademarks, logos, software, and design are protected and remain our exclusive property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the Services.
Payments & Subscriptions
- •Some features may be paid or subscription-based. Pricing and terms are disclosed in-app.
- •Purchases are handled by App Store/Google Play; their terms and refund policies apply.
- •Unless required by law, subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled 24 hours before renewal through the platform account settings.
Safety; No Background Checks
Turtle does not conduct criminal background checks on users. Exercise caution when interacting with others, especially offline. Meet in public, tell a friend, and report concerns.
We do not guarantee the identity, intentions, or conduct of users.
Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement).
We do not guarantee matches, dates, outcomes, or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Turtle and its affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill.
Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to Turtle in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
- •You may delete your account at any time in settings.
- •We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, risk to the community, or legal reasons.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
If you are a resident of Turkey: These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey and disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
For all other users: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in New York, New York, unless prohibited by applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. If material changes are made, we will notify you in the App or by email. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Safety Standards & Child Protection Policy
- •Zero tolerance for CSAE: We prohibit anyone under 18 from using Turtle and do not allow any content, behavior, or text that depicts, promotes, or encourages child sexual abuse or exploitation, including solicitation, grooming, or predatory interactions.
- •Detection and enforcement: We use a combination of automated systems and human moderation. If CSAE is detected, the account is permanently banned immediately and, as required by law, we report the content and associated user data (including IP addresses and device IDs) to NCMEC via the CyberTipline and to relevant law enforcement.
- •Reporting mechanisms: If you see any safety concern related to minors, report it through the in-app tools or email turtle.slow.dating.app@gmail.com. These reports are prioritized and reviewed urgently.
